Chris Berry was raised in California. Around the age of fifteen he stole a cassette tape from the local record shop. This cassette ended up being the first stone in his elaborate musical life. The cassette in question was a Fela Kuti album. He listened to it and fell in love with the sound.

He traveled to Africa shortly after discovering the cassette. While in Africa, he studied under a master thumb pianist and quickly became one him self. He plays sold out shows to large crowds in Africa, but is hardly known of in the states. Read more on Last.fm.
