TELECOM are a four piece Australian indie-rock band who broke onto the Melbourne live-music scene in May 2005. Utilising two guitars (Darren Levin, Nick Roe), one lead-bass player (Gregory Erdstein) and one drum kit, with included cymbals (Blake Williams), they feature ex members of several bands that both you and they have not heard of.

If you can imagine Dinosaur Jr. as a Sonic Youth cover band, trying to play the music of The Pixies while fronted by Bruce Springsteen, you must have quite an imagination. TELECOM have quite an imagination too, but they harness it for the purposes of writing music, rather than dreaming up farcical super-groups that will never exist.

TELECOM’s debut EP "Modern Adventures", recorded by Robbie Adams at Metropolis Audio Studios in Melbourne, is due to be launched in Australia in mid-August 2006. It has already received airplay Australia-wide on youth-radio network Triple J, in Melbourne on RRR FM, and has been added to rotation on FBi FM in Sydney.
