Young Future

Jamir D. Blanco (born September 4, 1990), better known for his stage name of Young Future, is an independent, unsigned American rapper. Young Future started experimenting with different sounds of hip hop at the age of 13, until finally finding his own style known today as New School Hip Hop.





Early Years:

Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, located in South America, his family moved to the United States when he was just a year old. Due to his father being in the United States Army, he moved around a lot between Florida and Georgia. After several turbulent separations his mother and father finally went their separate ways when he was 13 years old. The fourth out of five children, he is closest in age to a younger brother with a difference of five years between them, and having an eighteen year gap with his oldest brother. Young Future entered and successfully won first prize in talent shows in both his Middle and High School. He graduated from Everglades High school located in Florida, and is currently a full time student at The Academy of Arts University, located in San Francisco, California. Young Future has been quoted saying that “from a young age I knew I wanted to do music.” Contributing his love of music to rap icons such as 2-Pac, Nas, and Method-man, he has said that “all it took was one listen of their music to fall in love with the world and culture of Hip Hop.”

Career:

At age 16 Young Future entered and won 15th place at the Slip-N-Slide “show us what you got” contest. There were over a thousand contestants who entered the competition that year. In 2007 he did his first live performance at a concert in Miami, Florida. He also did a two year internship for Poe Boy Entertainment in Miami, Florida where he says he was able to learn “the in and outs of music business, as wells as marketing and production techniques.” These experiences can be said to have had the biggest influence in shaping him into a savvy, multifaceted artist who can successfully thread between entertain a live audience, compose his own lyrics, while producing original beats. He is a talented force to be reckoned with, and his steady fan flow is only expected to get larger as he develops further into his own music style.
