rekilttuB is the side project of musician Joseph Gerland. It was started in 2016 as he and his friends (Matt Wagnone & Isaac Gonzales) became burned out from trying to make their own music under their garage-rock band, Taverly. This lead to the creation of Joseph's side-project, rekcilttuB, and the group's side-project, Maddawgzzz. Making music in a totally non-serious state of mind became very easy for Joseph, and because of this rekcilttuB has seen 5 full length album releases, 1 EP release, and several demos by 2021. Each album brings some new mindset or approach to the table. Alphabetical Order was made mostly in Audacity with little-to-no mixing or mastering techniques applied to the songs. This album was created while Taverly was in writing sessions. Catering Memes was made mostly in Ableton Live Lite and was created while Joseph worked at a catering company with Matt. Mnemosyne consists entirely of audio renders from Avid Sibelius notation that Joseph had written for various projects that never were completed or recorded. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was created using FL Studio and Ableton Live Lite and was the first rekcilttuB record to be truly collaborative and feature live-recorded instruments throughout the bulk of the album. It was recorded to fulfil (most of) the requirements for Matt's 12th grade English project over the book of the same name. He passed the project and played the entire album for the captive audience of his class. Rekkit Club: The Prologue was created entirely in Studio One and features the most polished (the term is used liberally here) recording, mixing, and mastering techniques of the LP's and contains many trashed song ideas from rekcilttuB and other side-projects of Joseph's (Captive Thoughts, Periphrastic Negation, etc.). The name implies the future existence of a Rekkit Club album, although little is known about the merit of this claim. The latest release as of 5/11/2021 is a two-song EP titled Unsupported Placeholder. It consists of one original song and one cover of Ruston Kelly's Clean. It features a slightly more mature sense of aesthetic and composition and utilizes sampling techniques prominently.
