So Called Friend was hatched from a giant egg that emerged from the ground in Australia’s outback. He was found and raised by a kangaroo that had a part-time job rescuing idiot children from wells, and it was from her that he learned how to stand on his tail, eat copious amounts of dry biscuits and program noise on his computer, making beats people could rub against each other to in the techno clubs people seemed to be so fond of across the country. After hopping across the pond to Germany, he managed to fool some record labels into releasing his tracks, and had to think of a name for himself. Horatio Lovecheeks was his first thought, but seeing as his name was not actually Horatio and his cheeks weren't at all lovely, he went with So Called Friend instead. In 2009 So Called Friend released his first single on Raving Loony Records with Spoek Mathambo called 'Fever', which peaked at number 3 in the German Club Charts and stayed there for 8 weeks, which allowed him to buy many dry biscuits indeed. This year, after being let out of his cage for a number of remixes, he is bringing out his first album. 'Hands' is the first single from the album, a love song about opposable thumbs.
