Eager to avoid being pigeonholed, Japhy Ryder prefers not to be categorized, but when pressed, they describe their unique sound as a blend of funk, jazz and drum n bass. Japhy Ryder keeps people dancing. Armed with a guitar, bass, drums and trumpet--this Burlington based quartet is one of the tightest bands on the scene today.

In addition to their steady tour schedule, Japhy has also performed at various festivals including Camp Bisco V, Lumberjam at Sunshine Daydream, Northeast Kingdom Music Festival and the St. Michaels College SpringFest.

The band has also had the privilege of supporting several prestigious national acts including THE ROOTS, JACOB FRED JAZZ ODYSSEY, OZOMATLI, LOTUS, TEA LEAF GREEN, THE NEW MASTERSOUNDS, BERNIE WORRELL AND THE WOO WARRIORS, TOPAZ, THE SAM KININGER BAND, BROTHERHOOD OF GROOVE, and JEN DURKIN’S BOMB SQUAD.
