Lost Shadow is a music Swedish pop music act formed in Autumn 1999 by Johan Bengtsson (born on January 28th, 1985, in Uppsala, Sweden). At first Lost Shadow made a lot of dance music and club tracks, but over the time he turned the project's direction toward electronic pop music, heavily influenced by the Pet Shop Boys.

In 2002 Johan Bengtsson started his own record label Phonocratic Records in an attempt to market his music in various constellations. So far this label has only released Lost Shadow material. The first release on Phonocratic Records was the double-album Relentlessly (2003), which was a collection of the best dance and pop music Lost Shadow had made so far. The same year Lost Shadow also released Earth Is Dead - New World Rising, which was a big leap towards pop music.

On November 11th, 2003 the album nu-jazz influenced ...and come together tonight - It won't be in vain was released. The follow-up, One, was released on the 28th of June 2004. This album still had a lot of nu-jazz influences, but, as Lost Shadow said; it was also inspired by Up (2002).

After more than a year of musical absence Lost Shadow returned with the album Letters on August 15th, 2005. Letters is divided in two parts, one electronic part which sounds a lot like the older Lost Shadow-albums, and one more acoustic part, bearing influences of Leonard Cohen and Damien Rice. Letters was followed by another nu-jazz album, called Cafe Phonocratique, later in the Autumn. This album was a celebration of the cafes in Lost Shadow's hometown, Uppsala.

In December 2005 Lost Shadow released the singles collection Single-Minded along with a collection of b-sides, Besides, and a remix collection called Deeper Longer and Recut.

The acoustic pop album Intuition and Decision was released in December 2006 and consists of 12 songs, in a singer-songwriter style. The new songs featured lots of guitars and pianos, but also oboe. Three singles were released from it, Halfway Between Tori and Beth, Prison Cell and Leave.

In September 2007 the latest Lost Shadow album, Truths and Consequences was released. Truths and Conscequences are the complete opposite of Intuition and Decision, made with no acoustic instruments at all, only synths and programming. The songs are more danceable, very electronic, and quite a bit sounds like the Pet Shop Boys. Three singles has been released from it so far: Rumours, Prince Charming and Love at First Sigh.
