"The Vinyl Addicts live performances reinvigorate hope into the genre of piano-rock."(The Observer) If you knew Brian Murray and Benny Gammerman in high school, you'd know that The Vinyl Addicts were once two skinny white boys with a dream. Starting off in their high school music theory class, they turned a simple composition assignment into a songwriting partnership that has continued to develop over the past eight years. Their first album, recorded on Long Island in the house where Gammerman grew up, 2002's "Live at Millpond" was just the beginning of their exploration into song-writing. "[Their] dedication to broken hearted love songs, rollicking piano rock, and Dylan-esque harmonica solos have propelled the band into the limelight of Greenwich Village's new music scene."(The Quadrangle) They followed up Millpond with a live EP simply titled "8.04" and then in November of 2005 they released their first full-length studio album "One More Song". Newsday called it "a true gem, filled with characters and romances and evocative melodies that remain vivid even after repeated listens" and eventually named it the #2 Album of The Year for Long Island Bands. With the help of Anthony DeFeo on the bass, The Vinyl Addicts have since remained a dynamic presence in Manhattan's live music scene. "Their adolescent honesty is so true it outmatches that of even their biggest influence."(Village Voice 2006). In 2007, the band released a number of tracks online under the ablum title "The White Rhino Sessions" to which Newsday responded: "The Vinyl Addicts are still getting their high on."
