Genrevolta is a band out of Charleston SC. Originally it was formed under the name Powerdrill in 1989. The members then were Mike Walsh on vocals, Philip Estes on guitar, Scott Cave on guitar, James Zimmerman on Bass, and Mark Bernstein on Drums. The band dissolved in 1992. Phillip moved to Savannah for college and then Athens where he played in different bands there. Scott Cave and James Zimmermen went on to play in local bands in the Charleston area together(Soos and Hoss). Hoss is featured on the Unit One Record compilation. In 1999 Phillip moved back to Charleston and the band reformed minus Mark. Mike took up the duty of Drums. The name was then changed to Genrevolta. After a few months James left to play with Isabelle's Gift and Richard Weld replaced him. A homeade CD was released with several songs recorded from the past years. In 2002 the line up changed again with Scott and Mike leaving and Peter Revis took over drumming duties. Genrevolta then released an EP and a split 45 record.
