House of the Rising Sun Lyrics

There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I'm one
My mother was a tailor
She sewed my new blue jeans
My father was a gamblin' man
Down in New Orleans
Oh mother
Oh mother
Oh mother tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun
Well, there is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I'm one

Growing up, Hannah loved singing but never did it in front of people. In her junior year of college however, her friend asked her and a few others to sing while he proposed to his girlfriend. Everyone was amazed at her talent, and Hannah made the decision to pursue music as a career. She performed a show at a local coffee shop for about 60 people, still her biggest show to date. Now out of college and working full-time as a preschool teacher, it's difficult for her to find time for music, but she sings to her preschool class daily and is looking forward to performing for her largest audience ever on The Voice.
