Trained at the Duke Ellington School of the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., Ihsan (typically styled as IhsAn) began her musical career as a lead vocalist for the acclaimed band, Black Alley.

In July 2011, she released her debut album Big Red Box with the pop and R&B inspired tracks “Lifestyle-Ish” and “Big Band Theory”. Her sophomore album, T.E.A.L. hit the Top 100 on iTunes for R&B in 2013; later that year IhsAn signed with Dream 2 Destiny NuMusic. The accomplishments of the songstress go beyond; with being awarded the 1st House Studio Artist grant, and include opening performances for Kanye West, Faith Evans, Miguel, Bobby Valentino and more.

April 2014 witnessed her latest songwriting and recording collaboration with D.C. based artists Honore' and rapper Don Juan culminate in the release of the single My Baby, a project helmed by MTS Music producer Matthew Shell and DJ Flexx as a special tribute to Shell's wife.
