A San Francisco CA based singing duo of Jim Brunberg & Jeff Pehrson who in the early 1990's first met & offered their tunes via open mics in cafes near Golden Gate Park. After being well received, and garnering much press, eventually they moved onto larger venues and shared bills with well known touring Jam Band scene acts. They self released their "self titled" debut CD in 1994 and in 1995 they were named "group of the year" by the National Academy of Songwriters. They expanded their sound on subsequent releases with a full electric band, and after two more independent releases were signed to major label affiliate Capricorn records in 1997, also voted "club band of the year" that same year at the Bay Area Music Awards. They managed to have decent opportunities thrust their way, including corporate gigs, and high profile sports events, even recording their album Lemonade at Sausalito's famous Record Plant studios with producer Chris Manning of Jellyfish. By 2003, despite touring and promising reviews, they had failed to break out nationally or on radio, and Boxset just gradually stopped performing. Still maintaining a website, they have faded to "where are they now" status as we head towards the second decade of the early 21st Century.
