2. Moom (1992 - 2000) were a British progressive rock band that formed in Northampton, United Kingdom in 1992. The band was formed from the members of Medicinal Compound, Ain Bum Beef, along with Kristian Hartridge returning from living in Birmingham doing occasional guitar and vocals for Ominia Opera connected Blim..
The band recorded their first album Toot with Buckinghamshire based Delerium Records in August 1993. As a result of popular reviews from their release of Toot, the band quickly became known as "the Caravan of Northamptonshire" through their unmistakable Canterbury Scene sound.
The band followed up with a second album release Bone Idol in 1999, with the Delerium Label. It was at this stage that Moom was joined with an additional guitarist Mark Astill, and the band would be seen performing live with the likes of The Enid, Jefferson Starship and the Porcupine Tree.
The popularity of the band was further established through a first track headline appearance of The Higher Sun on their label's Pick & Mix double CD compilation, featuring such bands as The Aardvarks, Ominia Opera and Porcupine Tree, in 1995
3. Moom is a Italian alternative rock band formed in Verona in 2015. Moom consists on Davide "Dave" De Cassan (drums and vocals), Davide "Aerosol" Gottardi (bass and vocals), Leonardo "Leo" Castellani (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Sebastiano "Abes" Venturi (guitar, keyboards).
They currently have only one EP, "Woman Loves Moom, Man hates Moom", published in 2019 by Hat Music. Defined as "ciozzi, hermetic, evanescent", they are characterized by an excessive use of the mellotron (a practice that in the twentieth-first century attracted a lot of criticism), a marked tendency to not take themselves seriously, an indie-noise-liquid vein that looks to experimental cinematography.
