The Plains are a band from Seattle, WA. They have released two albums, On Earth As It Is In Heaven, which is considered to be more of a folk album, and The Boy in the Mansuit, which has a more alternative rock sound. Aaron Semer, Jonathan Kilian, and Joshua Atkins are the main members, but guest musicians have been used on both albums.

Most of the songs are written by Aaron Semer, who is also the guitar player and lead singer. Jonathan Kilian is the drummer and Joshua Atkins plays bass guitar. The band's music is often a synthesis of all four instruments (including Aaron's singing) into one self-complementary whole.

Their second album, the Boy in the Mansuit, has increasingly political lyrics, expressing a distrust in the American government and a dislike of leaders who seem to be more immature than the musicians themselves (their humble nature is described in other songs).

Aaron is a very multifaceted guitar player, who, over the course of their two albums, has played overarching electric solos, complex rhythm sections, slide guitar sections, and simple acoustic ballads.
