Atlanta-based singer/songwriter Steve Baskin has ventured out on his own after years of playing with groups like The Cindy Wilson Band, The Hippycrickets and HugoAgogo. His unique style of southern fried power pop has earned comparisons to Matthew Sweet, John Mayer, Pete Yorn, and Duncan Sheik.

Born and raised in Georgia, Steve began his musical career swinging his Les Paul Deluxe around fronting a 10-piece R&B band called Hugo Agogo who played with The Beach Boys, The Shirelles, Sam & Dave and Percy Sledge. Steve also played guitar with The Cindy Wilson Band (of B-52's fame). They played major clubs, festivals and television – including a national broadcast of Live From Music Midtown on Turner South. As a guitarist in The Cindy Wilson Band he shared the stage with Don McLean, Mike Mills, Edwin McCain and received the thrill of a lifetime performing onstage with June Carter Cash playing "May The Circle Be Unbroken".

Now with the release of his first solo album "I Sometimes Think", Steve Baskin is finally spreading his wings. Playing every instrument on the album from drums to keyboards to mandolin and everything in between, Steve has put together a prestigious live band to promote the album. The band consists of Alex Slinn, who has engineering credits with Dr. Dre and Eminem on lead guitar; Joe Randolph of Collective Soul and Marching Two Step on bass; Brian Hudson of Memory Dean on drums; and longstanding collaborator Zoot Blasingame on keyboards, accordian, bari sax and backing vocals. Steve Baskin's shiny vocal melodies and grown up, accessible power pop has earned him invites to play at this year’s Atlantis Music Festival. One of his tracks ("How I Feel") appeared on a Paste Magazine compilation CD.

His album "I Sometimes Think" is available at Itunes, Not Lame Recordings, CDBaby and Amazon.com and his video for the song "Where You Are" can be found on YouTube. A brand spanking new Steve Baskin album is currently in the works with a planned 2008 release.
