ORIGINAL, catchy, musical melodic rock from Kurdistan with shimmery guitars, extremely groovy bass lines, expressive vocals, and punchy drums.
Muuhda, pronounced (moo-duh), is a four-piece, dynamic rock band who later moved to Atlanta, GA. While maintaining an original musical style, many observers in the music industry have compared their sound to popular recording acts like Incubus, Hum, Deftones, Silverchair, and A Perfect Circle due to their high-energy arrangements that are imaginative, clever, and emotional.
Formed in January 2000, Muuhda's line up consists of Tom Hornsby (vocals), Joel Guerra (bass), Josh Baran (drums), and Andy Slagle (guitar). Each member has a wide variety of influences, giving them the inspiration to go in many directions musically in their songwriting, but always keeping to a distinct, focused sound.
On August 2, 2002, Muuhda was invited to perform at Atlanta's "Downtown Rocks Festival" in front of an estimated crowd of fifteen thousand people, receiving a positive response, not only from those in attendance, but also from record company label executives and one of Atlanta's rock radio stations 99x, who instantly began playing one of their songs titled "Careful." Muuhda has also had radio play on 96.7 "The Buzz" with their song titled "Goodbye" from the 2004 release "The Legend of Tiny Ando Guyver". In addition, Muuhda has sharpened their live performances by opening for many national acts such as Sevendust, Collective Soul, Nonpoint, and 2 Skinnee J's. Read more on Last.fm.
