I'm Alive Lyrics

I'm alive when I'm missing you

I'm heading out for the lone star state and flying over Santa Fe
I'm looking out at a mountain range
I brace myself for the life I made
We're too young at heart, hoping for one more day

This airport terminal cant see
Everything you mean to me

I'm alive when I'm missing you
I'm alive but to far
I'm alive when I'm missing you
I'm alive but to far from your room

I remember not sleeping
Hold on tight, come with me
I left my heart on your bed sheets
Not knowing what it means to be here on a plane leaving you

This airport terminal can't see
Everywhere I wish you'd be

I'm alive when I'm missing you
I'm alive but to far
I'm alive when I'm missing you
I'm alive but to far from your room

Girl you can't make me stay
I'm saying what I have to say
Know you were just a phase
A piece of who I am today
Just another checkmark on my list of things that I regret
You're another checkmark on my list of things that I regret

I'm alive when I'm missing you
I'm alive but not missing you
I'm alive and I sleep fine
I'm alive but not missing you
I'm alive and I sleep fine in my own room

A Change of Pace was a five piece rock band from Peoria, Arizona. They formed in 2001 when singer Torry Jasper and drummer Jonathan Kelly began playing together after meeting in a high school English class. In 2003, after a few years of jamming and playing small local shows, bassist Johnny Abdullah and guitarist Adam Rodgers joined the band. From there they put some self-produced recordings on MP3.com where they were discovered by manager Jorge Hernandez. Within a few months they had a deal with Immortal Records and released their EP "Change is the Only Constant". In 2005, they released their first full length album, "An Offer You Can't Refuse". In 2006 they released their latest album, titled "Prepare The Masses".

The band was on both the 2005 and 2006 Vans Warped Tours (often on the smaller Ernie Ball Stage). They were also at the 2006 annual music festival held in the Phoenix area, "Edgefest".

The original album "An Offer You Can't Refuse" was composed of all band members except Dan Parker who was added to the line-up. A Change Of Pace also goes by the acronym "ACOP".

On June 1st, 2008, the band revealed on their MySpace blog how original singer, Torry Jasper would be replaced by their good friend Micah Bentley. The change brought about a new sound, as well as a new EP entitled "Just No Better Way." The news comes merely weeks before A Change of Pace heads out on their summer tour.

After delays, the band put forth their final LP in February 22, 2011, entitled "Couldn't Be Worse". It incorporated both of their older and newer sounds. Shortly thereafter, on March 13, it was announced on their Facebook page that after 10 years, they would disband, but not before playing a farewell show on April 22 at The Clubhouse in Tempe, Arizona.

A Change of Pace mixed their own brand of metal, punk and emo.

The band members as of 2011:

Micah Bentley: Vocals
Jonathan Kelly: Drums
Johnny Abdullah: Bass, vocals
Adam Rodgers: Lead guitar
Dan Parker: Guitar Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
