Matthew Strachan [[yearformed]1970] is a songwriter and composer who has written TV soundtracks, musicals and songs. He was born in London, UK and trained as a composer at Dartington College of Arts and Goldsmith’s College, University of London. After ten years of composing music for television he spent two years writing songs in Nashville before writing music and lyrics for the stage musical Next Door’s Baby which premiered in London in 2008. In 2007 he released a back catalogue of material including the albums Fallen Angels, Next Door's Baby, and 37203. He is also the creator of the fictional 1970's composer, Klaus Harmony.

As a songwriter Strachan is varied, his style being quite fragmented, obvious influnces being Randy Newman, Stephen Sondheim and Frank Zappa. His best known music is the soundtrack to the TV show Who Wants to be a Millionaire? which has accompanied the game the world over and has earned him several industry awards. Read more on Last.fm.
