Carley Tanchon spent most of her childhood in a suburb east of Cleveland, OH called Chagrin Falls. She was on stage by the time she was 3, played piano by 6 and guitar by 8. From the time she was 6 years old, she took an interest in being creative - attempting to write books, songs, paint... whatever she could. She did theater, musicals all while working hard in school. Aiming to be the best at whatever she did.

After high school, she moved to Boston where she studied at Berklee College of Music. While in school, she began touring the country and entertaining thousands everywhere from Las Vegas to Washington DC. She possesses an ability to make crowds fall in love with her. In addition to being an extremely talented guitar player with hauntingly powerful vocals and stage presence, her personality off stage seals the deal.

She recorded and co-produced her debut album in July of 2008 and released it independently in April of 2009 after moving to Nashville where she is currently based. The record, Peridot, evokes a sense of urgency. There is a fresh, raw element that attracts the listener from the first strike of a mandolin at the onset of the CD. As the project continues, it explores broad territory of creativity, redefining limitless possibilities from folk and rock, all delivered from a soulful voice. Powerful grooves and innovative production push the music to a new edge. Intertwining explorative songwriting and flawless, emotional performances from incredible musicians She is continuing to tour, making a splash as a solo-artist whose fan base is growing exponentially.

"I love being on the road. It's the one thing that always feels the way it's supposed to. Home is wherever I am at any given moment. That's the beauty of music - never feeling stuck in one place - physically or emotionally. There's always a road leading somewhere else." Read more on Last.fm.
