DESBOT is the side solo project from Maurice Beckett of JAKOB. This outfit show's him continuing his love of distorted bass drones, by means of a loop pedal,delays,reverb,and of course,distortion. Think of SUNNO))),OM,WINDY AND CARL. Generally a one man band,though at various times has been joined on stage with extra musicians,most notably Jeff Boyle, Jason Johnston(JAKOB) and Jules Desmond (LETTERBOX LAMBS and BLACK BONED ANGEL). These extra's have added dimension's to DESBOT's expansive live sound, bringing a nice contrast to what at times can be an overwhelming hum of bass. Since forming in mid 2007, DESBOT previously known as THE FUCK, with Jesse Boohe (LOOMA) on drums/guitar,has played various shows at THE CABANA in Napier,his hometown.
