A pop star, a rapper and a classically trained composer. It’s a strange combination, but that’s why it worked. Through a chance studio meeting, singer and composer Nodden met billboard chart topping dance artist Miz Mandy and rapper J. Mac. The three began collaborating and quickly released their first single “Just Another Night (in San Diego)” and seemingly overnight it has become the Pacific Beach, California anthem. Nodden’s style mixes hip hop and techno and infuses it with a laid back So-Cal feel. If you listen closely, you can even hear the classical influence in the arrangements.

Currently, Nodden is in the studio with producer Chris Hobson (Get Back Loretta) recording an EP due out in September through Rhythm Coalition Productions.

Thanks to the support of San Diego DJ’s, the single has been receiving club spins everywhere from Typhoon Saloon to Tavern in Pacific Beach to Ivy, Red Circle and Hard Rock in the Gaslamp District. Seven prominent local DJ’s are currently remixing the song, including the renowned San Diego turntablist, DJ Theron. The spins inspired enough voters to secure Nodden a finalist position in the San Diego Magazine “Your Song” competition and a featured interview on the Limewire Music blog. Nodden recently débuted at the Adidas US Open Kickoff party and upcoming performances include the Best of San Diego Event, a headlining spot at the 710 club and a performance at the Susan G. Komen race for the cure.
