Performing under the moniker BJSR, Dayton based singer-songwriter Benjamin Rivet combines a unique blend of folk, rock and pop to create a style all his own. Rivet uses acoustic guitar, beat-boxing and live looping to build the sound of a five-piece band with the intimacy of a coffee shop soloist. His smooth voice, powerful guitar and lively rhythm make his music both easy to listen to and very danceable. Although he maintains a folky, troubadour sound, his versatility as a musician allows him to play a wide variety of genres and is becoming known for his interesting mash-ups as well as his relatable songwriting. After graduating from the University of Dayton's in music in 2008, Rivet sharpened his skills while performing on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. This past year he has performed over 150 shows in Dayton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Chicago, East Lansing and L.A. under the BJSR name and is currently booking shows around the Midwest to promote his new EP, “Axe and Vox.” Read more on Last.fm.
