About the Artist
This project is the brainchild of guitarist and producer Robin Durbin from Leeds UK, the city that has given us Kaiser Chiefs, Corinne Bailey-Rae and …er ……Chumbawumba, comes an entirely new kind of beast; Superface. The sound mixes up big rock noises, heavy funk breakbeats, brooding atmosphere and catchy hooks. This stuff is modern, raw and infectious like the plague. Think Hendrix, Audioslave, and Ian Brown with a touch of Massive Attack, Nine Inch Nails and Klaxons and you get somewhere near. After a good stretch spent paying his dues on the live music scene, it was time to get writing, get recording and get serious! Here are the results………..

Life before Superface
As session guitarist Durbin has supported Jamiroquai, Beverley Knight, Maceo Parker, Samantha Mumba, A1 and Liberty X. He has worked with Rhianna Kenny (LSK’s younger sister) in her Sony days, disco legends Odyssey, ex-Sugarhill Gang/Tackhead guitarist Skip ‘Little Axe’ McDonald and Leeds’ own Corinne Bailey-Rae. He can also be heard on recordings by other GLP artists Capri, Cara Robinson and Lara Rose. Live appearance are too numerous to list but include BBC TV and Radio, MTV, ITV, Heart FM, Glastonbury Festival, J-Wave, Hammersmith Apollo, Manchester Academy and Glasgow Barrowlands…..you get the idea!
