Invisible Hands Lyrics

It is a certain kind of noise
That's got me feelin' this way
Like when we always get to rocking and the rhythm makes the body just sway
I cry to the Lord
I'm sure I heard him, do I
The next thing I knew the devil beat me to it

Invisible hands wrapped around my throat
Let me let me
Baby let me let me
One more
One
Let me go

And I went away from the devil
But the devil had me wrapped in chains
Cause when the devil gets ahold of you
Baby got you cradle to grave
I don't want you to think about it
I don't want you to talk about it

Invisible hands wrapped around my throat
Let me let me
Baby let me let me
Devil won't let me go

Get her out
Gotta get her out of me
Get her out
Gotta get her out of me
Get her out
Gotta get her out of me

Ooh I know you think you know me
Tell me Devil do you know my name
Or am I just another heathen screaming while you play your little games

It is a certain kind of noise
That's got me feelin' this way
Like when we always get to rocking and the rhythm makes the body just sway

Invisible hands wrapped around my throat
Let me let me
Baby let me let me
Devil won't let me go

Get her out
Gotta get her out of me
Get her out
Gotta get her out of me
Get her out
Gotta get her out of me
Get her out
Gotta get her out of me
Get her out
Gotta get her out of me

(Spoken Word)

The lonely avenue
The lonely avenue
The lonely avenue
The lonely avenue

Her live performances are described by Wondering Sound as angry and "furious and feral." American Songwriter calls her stage presence "commanding."

Victoria's full-length debut was produced by Roger Moutenot, and is called Beyond the Bloodhounds. The name of the album references Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl by Harriet Jacobs. The theme of her first album is about dealing with her life in her twenties. Moutenot has previously collaborated with Yo La Tengo and also produced her first single.
