Biography

Tero Civill (born 1976 in Nokia, Finland) is a Finnish DJ and music producer. He began
promoting warehouse raves and DJing at age of 15. Since 1991 he has performed at hundreds of events, including Roskilde Festival and MTV's Isle Of MTV among others. Tero also has a weekly radio show Sunnuntaikooma at Finland's only electronic music radio station, Basso FM. He owns a personal record collection of over 20 000 songs.

His music production work begun around 1994 when he begun to utilize old synthesizers he had started collecting years before. Early experimental gigs paved the way for his Syv2 Un1 project, which focuses on ambient, downtempo and IDM. Since then he has produced music for TV, theater and different record labels.

Tero has also appeared in few television advertisements, as well in music video by Finnish musician Darude.

Syv2 Un1

Syv2 Un1 is a one-man project of Tero Civill, Finnish electronic music pioneer and artist. It was born from experimental sessions held at the studio, which focused mainly on tweaking old analog synths and laying even more experimental percussive tracks on top of it all. The premise of the project was to act as an opposite force for Tero's dj sets under his Dj Coma moniker. Spinning techno and early progressive house records at underground techno parties on a weekly basis needed some Yang to ease it out a bit. In mid 90's, Tero started to appear in chill out lounges at different warehouse parties on a regular basis, jamming for hours behind enormous stacks of
synthesizers. Since then a lot has happened, and today Syv2 Un1's gig list include performances at small clubs as well as in major events, including the Roskilde Festival 2004 in Denmark and Koneisto, one of the biggest electronic music festivals there is in northern Europe.

Tero's career as a DJ have also took him to many trips behind the turntables at different chill out events. His sets have been heard from MTV's Isle Of MTV parties to Helsinki International Fashion Week and beyond. In 2004 he got his radio opportunity and was invited to host weekly chill out/electronica radio show Sunnuntaikooma (Sunday Coma) on Basso FM 102.8 MHz. In 2005 Syv2 Un1 debut album 'Coos' saw the light of the day. Making of the album was a project that lasted over three years, and only one track survived from the first draft. Part of it was made in Punavuori, Helsinki and part of it in Tampere, Tero's early home town in Finland.
