The Band and the Music

Asono's sound is all their own. Front man Jonny Ross whose stadium filling vocals anchor the bands sound firmly in the rock domain cannot fail to impress while his lead guitar work, which he shares with guitarist Andrew Simmons is exceptional. The pair entwine lead and rhythm sections creating a unique mood for each and every song they play. Jason Denhart's driving bass patterns and drummer Oli King's technical wizardry create an ambitious yet concrete platform from where the two guitarists can really express themselves. It is Asono's diversity and pure musical dynamics which set them apart from the vast majority of rock bands and their huge sound is more than capable of filling stadiums anywhere.

The band formed in late 2003 when four friends united their interests in music. After months of deliberation the band finally decided on the name Asono. Asono comes from the Latin word 'Sono' which means to create sound.

Asono's live performance is not to be missed; they have put on some fantastic shows over the last 12 months with numerous performances in and around London including The Rock Garden, Dublin Castle, The Hope and Anchor, London Astoria II and a headlining slot at the Oxford University Summer Ball. In the summer of 2005 Asono reached the Final of Emergenza's Unsigned Competition, a competition that attracted over 1000 unsigned acts. In November Asono featured in London City University's Massive Lifestyle Magazine and have since had Internet radio airplay in 7 different countries.

Popularity for the band's huge music is growing. Each and every performance brings new fans, a statement which is testified by the selling of over 500 CD's and 200 t-shirts in the last 6 months.
