Hi my name is sammy G and i was born in welshpool in mid-wales UK.

My real name is sam gomm but i was christened '' SAMMY G '' by scottish ian the band leader of ''HANK
MCGREGOR AND THE COMIC COWBOYS''. They were the first professional band i joined after i left school in mid-wales.Uk back in 1992. i was the drummer and also sang as well.

After a few years as a ''COMIC COWBOY'' i decided to move on and play drums and sing again with another UK group called ''JOE LE TAXI '' this time perfroming zydeco music , My father ian gomm also played guitar in the band, He was a member of the well known 70,s group ''Brinsley Schwarz '' which
also included Nick lowe as a member,It was a great experience for me to play with my dad!

In 1998 i put my drumsticks to one side and concentrated on what i really wanted to be, The lead singer of my own band , I formed the ''SAMMY G BAND '' with some musician friends and we played all over wales playing festivals ,clubs and pubs.

In 2000 i decided to go solo and perform with only my voice and guitar and a selection of my favourite songs including my own SAMMY G compositions . I toured all over mid-wales ,Then the south of England playing in London, Norwich , Brighton, And then all over Scotland and then on to Europe in Demark ,Spain , France and portugal.

In 2001 i moved to Holland and played my firsted Dutch gig in a Irish bar called MAGUIRES in alkmaar,This also led to my appearance at the atlantis club in alkmaar.It was at this gig i got my
first break in music where i was approached by tate de jong Label manager of AG MUSIC Record company ,He suggested that i recorded my first Demo '' IF I EVER '' which was my own compositon for his label at AG music recording studio in Broek op langeijk in Alkmaar.

The 2002 i moved back to wales to concentrate on writting some new songs to record with AG music
and also do some touring in the uk .

In 2004 i relocated once again in holland to settle in Nijmegen with my Dutch girlfriend ,This time peforming in the music scene around the nijmegen area. Atfer a few shows in nijmgen i deicided to get a band together to tour around holland which i did and tour all ovewr holland.

In 2005 It was time to work with tate de jong again on my debut single '' YOU DID.NT LISTEN'' This time
my father was there to help with the recording of the CD. We made 200 copies for promotion and to sell
at gigs.

In 2006 Things started of very well for me in february i enter the singersongwriters festival competition in nijmegen and sent my cd off to be listened too. And to my surpise i made the finals which was made up on 5 musicians from the gelderland area . IN the final i came third which was great to be Third out of the whole of the gelderland area which is pretty big area . After that the next week i had a phone call from
TV Gelderland to see if i wanted to go on the TV and radio because they liked me in the final , I said yeh straight away and made my way to the studios in arnhem. The show was played on tv everynite for a month which was good for me because people started to know who i was and say my name on the streets of
nijmegen.

And since 2006 to 2010 i have played all of holland, wales, England and belgium just touring around with my guitar and voice and enjoying some radio play all over the world and recently on radio cardiff with
scott travlers as the Dj .
