There's something happening in London, an underground scene that hopefully one day will be looked back at like the freshness of Jazzreloaded's cover art. Replacing the smoky pictures of impeccably dressed American jazz artists from the 40's & 50's with something altogether more English. My advice would be to get these tracks shuffling on your Ipod for the next time you take that bus ride in central London.
Jazzreloaded is the documentation of a musical journey in Afropean jazz and its myriad forms:Nu Jazz, Soul, Swing, Spoken word, Blues, Bebop, Hip Hop, Leftfield, Broken Beat, Fusion, Post Bop…and styles yet to be imagined. With this calibre of musicians, the only boundary is the imagination
Taylor is the man behind the jazzreloaded vibe. Although classically trained, Taylor’s performance style is underpinned by London street vibe that reflects the Reggae, Funk, Hip Hop and soul which is in the Jazz of today. As such, his bass has been the driving force behind artists such as Courtney Pine OBE, Denys Baptiste, Carleen Anderson, Steve Williamson, Maxi Jazz ( Faithless) Orphy Robinson, Jean Toussaint, J-life, Julie Dexter, JazzXchange, Robert Miles, Nathan Haines, Imaani (incognito), Tony Kofi, Rob Gallagher ( Two Banks of Four) and Talvin Singh to name a few.
Taylor has also been instrumental in pioneering jazz infrastructure in the UK whilst away from his bass, through his work producing artists and providing consultancy services through taylormade studios, which has helped to incubate recordings for artists including Cuban violinist, Omar Puente, Punk Jazz outfit The Mighty Jeddo, Inspirational multimedia poet Steve Rock, and UK trip hop outfit Break Reform.
