Runa Rizvi is daughter of Indian singers Rajkumar Rizvi and Indrani Rizvi. Films apart, the conversation strictly builds around ghazals, a genre that owes much to Rizvi and his unadulterated style of rendition which he has imbibed from Mehndi Hasan. Famed for the classicist dimensions he has added to the form, Rizvi has sung almost all celebrated poets of the past and present times.

She belongs to the Kalavant gharana and has been trained in classical, semi-classical and light classical music & can sing anything from Hindi film songs to Ghazals, Thumri, Folk, Punjabi & Sufi Music as well as Western & Pop music, with equal elan.

She has sung for Rajashri film “Uff kya jaadu mohabbat hai” along with Kunal Ganjawala who added class to the chartbuster “Murder” song “Bheege honth tere."
