SPHEAR were formed in early 2010 under a different name in Düsseldorf, Germany. Started as a quintet, nowadays the core setup of the band is stripped down to three members, that focus on the vision they have for this band: Produce and play technical and melodical metal songs, that challenge themselves. With every song they try to push their boundaries to the next level and improve their skills. As they keep everything very DIY, the songs are written, recorded and mixed by guitarist Chris D., who is also programming the synthies and drum patterns. Additional songwriting and arranging is done by bassplayer Tom K. and vocalist Andy S., who is in charge of the bands lyrical concept, social media activities and „business and promo affairs“. The three core members have been active in several bands before (Ashes Take Shape, Murdock, ARTofNOX, Lifesaver to name a few) and also participate in side projects to fit everyones individual musical interests. After a long period of just rehearsing and writing songs, recording and infrequent output, the band decided to turn things more serious. In 2014 the first „real“ EP „I“ is released online, containg the first six tracks the band has written and recorded from their beginning and shows their andvancement in producing, writing and recording the songs. SPHEAR found their way. And they also want to bring their music on stage again. Beside recording the second EP, SPHEAR focus on finding a second guitarist and a new drummer to form a live lineup again and get on the road with their songs.
