Carson Cole's new greatest hits album is being added to college and indie radio across the country!
Carson Cole's 2006 release of "Essentials" features 18 of his fan favorites and 3 new songs. "Keep My Buddy Safe" was written in support of and with Army Dan Joudhry who just finished his tour in Afghanistan. The album also features a dark tale about an army sniper who alegedly took photos of his trophy kills on "The Legend of Mister Perry". "Five Dollar Guitar" is a backwoods ditty about a cheap pawn shop guitar that Carson adopted. All of his music celebrates his passions for life; making music, his connection with the land, the people, his friends, and his home, Alberta.
Carson Cole was born and bred in rural, Alberta. Starting at age 15, he cut his first album, and hasn't stopped writing and recording since. The result of this has made his a household name and cultural icon in Western Canada. His touring regimen is unparalleled, having scoured the country for shows, and trekked across the same no less than 20 times. Carson has released 10 albums independently and produced and written for literally hundreds more bands and projects. Now at age 40, Carson's sound has taken on more of the road he is so accustomed to, more of the country to which he loves, and the province in which he resides, Alberta.
2006 saw Carson Cole relocate to Edmonton, sign with Dig It All Records and hire the permanent management of Dixon Christie (PunkTV.ca, HypePublicity.com). The first act of business between management and the label was to re-release his back catalog, and release 2 new albums; "Carson Cole Essentials" (A Greatest Hits Package), and Carson's new, as of yet untitled album, which reveals the quieter side of Carson through more introspective numbers, and more acoustic arrangements.
Carson is supporting his new release with festival dates, bar events, soft seater shows, and national radio release and tracking.
