The Bomb Squad is a hardcore band originating at Newsome High School in Lithia, Florida. The band started as almost a joke, a side-project of Gladstone, but emerged as a serious hardcore band popular among Newsome students and local high school/college students.

The Bomb Squad is a rap production team whose original members were Chuck D, Hank Shocklee, Keith Shocklee & Eric "Vietnam" Sadler. In 1994, Easy Mo Bee, Gary G-Wiz, Sleek and Panic joined The Bomb Squad. Their music generally consists of very dense layers of hip hop party jams, sampled speech and rock guitars plus other 'found' sounds.
Though they are most famous for their work with Public Enemy, they have produced for other artists including, among others, rapper Ice Cube and Welsh rock band Manic Street Preachers. They also produced a few tracks for New Jack/Hip-Hop group Bell Biv Devoe (A New Edition Spin-off group).
