Nouman Javaid gets to play the triple role of singer, composer and lyricist with 'Dard -E- Tanhai'. 'Dard -E- Tanhai' heralds the arrival of yet another talented artist in the form of Nouman. The young man gives it all in this soulful number which makes for a melodious and engaging hearing even though it comes with sad connotations. Lyrics are quite simple but they do make an impact, especially due to the way Nouman sets the mood as per the situation and allows both the composer and singer in him equal prominence. The song later arrives in a minute long 'unplugged version' as well and as expected, doesn't fail to make an impact.

Dard-E-Tanhai is easily the best song from Jashnn and one of the highlights of 2009. Right from the start, the sombre tone ushers a touch of class and embodies the hallmarks of a chart-buster in the making; melodically strong musical arrangements (particularly the piano, guitar and percussion), fantastic vocals by Nouman Javaid and equally powerful lyrics (by Nouman)….In fact it could only be enhanced with a remix version. And thankfully, that comes later in the form of the Kilogram Mix which is equally mesmerising. Dard-E-Tanhai is AWESOME PERSONIFIED!

Nauman Javaid is another Atif Aslam in the making, as his vocals are strong, sonorous and he sings with feelings. Another aspect that deserves applause are the lyrics which are so apt that they fit in like a hand in glove, the situation may be routine but the lyricist, Nauman Javaid is class apart. Appears to be a pro this guy!
