Jagged Lines is a rock 'n' roll band from San Diego, CA. Heavily influenced by garage rock, blues, post-hardcore, punk rock, metal, and indie rock, the band's sound is marked by aggressive riff rock, energetic dynamics, and some brooding dark passages in between. The band is a trio composed of singer/songwriter/guitarist Dre Carrera, bassist Jared Haines, and drummer William Schattner. The band formed in late 2010 with the intention of crafting pensive but aggressive rock music that "burned like whiskey but stung like a switch blade." The band released its full-length debut LP entitled "Free Yourself To Pieces" in March of 2014.

The band was formed by Carrera in October of 2010. Haines and Schattner were previously in a now-defunct grunge project called Spiral Pitfall. After Pitfall's dissolution in mid 2010, Carrera, who had recently relocated to San Diego from New York, was looking to put together an incarnation of his solo project, the Film Noir. Having found Haines and Schattner through a mutual friend to complete the lineup, it quickly became apparent that the three's common musical denominators were rooted in aggressive rock, a slightly different aesthetic than the intentions of the subtler indie rock solo project Carrera had intended. Being more of a metal drummer, Schattner brought an element of technical but Spartan drumming, while Haines' punk-influenced energy necessitated something new as well. The new project's songwriting recalled Carrera's exposure to the NYC hardcore and garage rock scenes, while the instrumental improvisations the band used to familiarize itself with the individual members' styles recalled a darker and subtler tone that finds itself still entwined amongst the band's more raucous passages.

The band is currently writing a second record, and is planning a west coast tour towards the end of 2014 or early 2015. Playing extensive shows in San Diego, Jagged Lines has become known for their noticeably loud and energetic performances. In 2013, Carrera also took over duties as lead guitarist for Ocean Beach punk rock band Strangely Strange.
