Vayijel («guardian animal» in the Tzotzil language) is a Tzotzil-Maya rock band from San Juan Chamula, Chiapas, Mexico.

It was founded in September 2006 by its guitarist Jesus Manuel.

Vayijel its born as a project for the revalorization of the mother tongue Tsotsil, as a modern artistic expression, they demonstrate that traditional music is not fought with rock.
