Robert Solheim from Norway was born on Averøy, an island of the west-coats. Growing up between the sea, the mountains and the music –because of his parents passions for the same art-, he Started early to play the organ, then played drums, keyboards and sang in various bands, until he discovered a synthesizer by the name of Roland Jupiter 8, and started to create his own musical landscapes.

Since 1997 he has released several albums as CURRENT on Origo Sound, Norwegian label who also had artists like Biosphere, Erik Wøllo, and Eyeman Reel. In 2005 he started releasing his material on his own label CURRENTMUSIK.

Under the moniker AQUAVIT, a collaboration with the American multi-media artist Michael Snyder (Eidetaker) they release their first and much anticipated work together in 2008. The album called Telapatia is a mixture of all kinds of modern day electronica as well as influences from such diverse styles as jazz and flamenco.

In 2007/ 2008, he formed the dark electro act THE OPIATES together with the German singer Billie Ray Martin, where he composed and produced the music. An advance of the work was presented in a concert in the mythical shop Rogue Trade in London in March 2008. With the event, they also released a 10 inch vinyl with the title Anatomy of a plastic girl.

From his first release Enter The Dream back in 1997, he has received fabulous critics in newspapers and magazines in Norway as well as international music magazines, internet-zines and blogs.
About the album Musik (2001) Bill Binkelman from the magazine Wind & Wire said “Musik is a veritable glossary/textbook of any number of current-day executions of electronica/EM” and Communion from 2003 quote: “you may as well know that I'm going to be drooling with the rest of the folks who can't get enough of such a tasty mélange of electronic musical bliss. Yum-yum, may I please have some more? Highly recommended, of course!”

Within his releases, the track Ghost Trip from the album Communion (2003) was voted by the readers of the magazine E-dition, number 7 of the 100 best electronic tracks thru time, together with artists like Kraftwerk, New Order, Biosphere and David Sylvian.
