Band 1
mongo the Bristol band were formed in the early 1990's. Kennedy, acoustic guitar playing singer songwriter, and his friends Hughes and Brock approached Sab about forming a band.
Kennedy played acoustic guitar and sang, Hughes played lead guitar, Sab played bass and sang and Brock played a djembe. With the addition of Surge (an RX7 drum machine) and later Junior (Hugh's Roland drum machine, can't remember the model) they performed at a number of small gigs around Bristol, recorded a number of demo tapes, but were too lazy and eventually split up as no-one could be bothered to organise anything.
Their music was a mix of folky style song writing (courtesy of Kennedy) spacey guitar noodling (Hughes) married to a dark and brooding rhythm section (Sab and Surge). Brock was there to add a bit of glamour.

Band 2
Mongo (Phoenix, AZ) - Doom / Stoner Metal: Mongo was formed out of a mutual love for Black Sabbath, Sleep, Trouble, and other stoner, doom and psych bands. They are known for there "Painfully loud" and partially improvised stage show. Read more on Last.fm.
