The Blues Overdrive are a renowned Danish Blues band from Copenhagen, Demark.

They are predecessors of a modern and updated style of blues. Their receipe is a modern and reinterpreted version of the genre. The key elements are respect for tradition, but playing it with a contemporary twist. Their repertoire primarily consists of original compositions and cover a wide range of musical styles from the dirty swamp tunes to blistering shuffles and raunchy boogie grooves.

In March of 2012 the band released the long awaited debut album containing a previously unknown and unpublished song by roots and blues cult - icon J.J. Cale. A song from his golden area in the early seventies. The album also offers a tribute to the late godfather of danish blues Peter Thorup, as well as nine other self-composed songs.

Back in 2003, The Blues Overdrive established themselves by winning the prestigious 25 year Anniversary Blues Competition at the legendary Copenhagen bluesmecca, Mojo Blues Bar. The praise was big and even included national media headlines like "The new shooting stars on the Danish bluesscene" and "One of the best and most promising blues bands in the country."

Consisting of a collection of the country's highest regarded talents, the band has toured extensively in recent years. Including highlevel gigs at Skanderborg Festival, Cph. Jazz Festival, Cph. Blues Festival etc. The music has so far gained radio airplay in over 20 countries.
