Amsterdam-based Bernie's Lounge is a first rate Worldmusic group from The Netherlands. The line up consists out of some of the most superb musicians the Dutch international music scene has to offer. This band packs a powerful punch with its danceable and contemporary blend of Afrolatin, Funk, Balkan and Brazilian music brought forth with a funky nastiness.Bernies Lounge has gained a wealth of live experience, having played at numerous gigs and festivals. They were the opening band for two Buena Vista Social Club concerts in Amsterdam in July 2004. So far they toured in France, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Belgium and Brazil. In 2006 they drew big crowds for their regular "Burning the Lounge"-evenings in the Sugarfactory in Amsterdam.In october they did a show at the Amsterdam Dance Event 2006: they surprised the crowd at the BIMhuis in Amsterdam and left them flabbergasted during a special show with guest Trumpet player Roy Paci (Aretuska /banda Ionica) and Keyboard player/ Vocalist Dele Sosimi (Fela Kuti). The band is also available in this combination for future concerts.

In 2007 the band had did an amazing gig at Lowlands Festival, in ocotober that year the CD Red Mango was released at PIAS and the releaseparty at The Melkweg in Amsterdam was packed. December 2007 they appeared again 10 times as houseband fot the VPRO Wetenschapsquiz (Dutch National TV, same as in 2006, each episode of this program has an average of 1 million viewers.)
