Sharon Abreu is a singer and songwriter whose musical influences range from folk and pop to Broadway and classical music. Sharon sang opera in New York City while also singing in the jazz-pop trio InAccord and the comedy improv a cappella quintet Whatever4, performing at the New York Buskers Fare, the Streets Ahead Festival in Manchester, England, and Caroline's Comedy Club in her home town of New York City.

Sharon pretends to have a degree in inanimate object psychology and claims that hyperactivity has been her greatest asset. She actually does have a degree in Music from New York University.

Sharon is a melody and harmony nut and writes on a whole range of subjects. Many of her songs are filled with love and passion for the Earth. Her climate change song "Change in the Climate" became the climate change theme song for Betsy Rosenberg's show EcoTalk on AirAmerica radio.

Sharon and her partner Michael Hurwicz have been singing as a duo ("Irthlingz") since 1998, combining their songwriting skills, rich vocal harmonies, two acoustic guitars, violin/fiddle, standup bass, and colorful senses of humor into an eclectic, fun and powerful experience for their audiences.

Sharon has sung at the United Nations in New York and for World Environment Day in San Francisco in 2005. Sharon and Michael provided music for the World Summit on Sustainable Development in South Africa in 2002. They have performed in concert with legendary folksinger Pete Seeger and at the New York Aquarium with television personality Bill Nye the Science Guy.

Sharon also does concerts of classical music, often peppered with a couple of Broadway tunes, standards and folk songs.

Sharon and Michael now live on Orcas Island in Washington State, where they produce their music, perform locally, and bounce off to perform hither and thither on various occasions. Sharon teaches singing in her private studio, and the team runs the nonprofit Irthlingz Arts-Based Environmental Education.
