Pat has toured the country extensively for the past 8 years, bringing his own distinct style of stripped down raw country song and a variety of backing musicians to bars, festivals, venues and listening room audiences. Whats particularly notable to me is the energy and honesty he brings to performances, as well as the humor.
"Pat Reedy, Ronnie Aitkens and The Longtime Goners" is a debut studio album was recorded and mixed by Andrija Tokic at Bombshelter Studios in Nashville TN and mastered by John Phillips.
At the time the band was fronted by 2 songwriters: Pat Reedy and Ronnie Aitkens. The rest of the band on this album consists of:
John James on fiddle, pedal steel, dobro and electric guitar, (also of The Deslondes)
Dan Cutler on upright bass and backing vocals (also of the Deslondes)
Tony Frickey on drums,
Micah Hulscher on piano,
Caitlin Rose (also an accomplished songwriter)
Their sound is generally defined by a driving rhythm behind concise melodies and arrangements that arguably draw on older classic and outlaw country, rockabilly, traditional appalacian fiddle tunes, swamp pop, blues and traditional cajun and zeideco. Instrumental parts or "solos" are concise in their energetic live performances as well as their recordings. -- Bill "Big Eagle" Downing

When a young Pat Reedy (singer-songwriter in The Longtime Goners) hitchhiked from his native Illinois to New Orleans in 2004 “as soon as he could,” he was given a broken guitar by a stranger. He fixed it up and learned to play and sing for tips on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter. He knew some old songs but soon began writing his own- “You get tired of playing the same three songs, you will learn others fast and I will guarantee you have material for some of your own.”
He's spent most of his life on the road working odd jobs and playing music. His songs are raw, stripped-down country sung straight from the heart, timeless and original. “I guess [my songs] come from travel, work, women, love, hate, all that. Hard times and good ones both.” Pat now has several solo recordings and an impressive collection of original works. -- Luke Bell
