There are at least two different artists called Oneness:
1) Oneness is a Finnish jazz group that got together in the summer of 2006. Members are: Johanna Sulkunen - Vocals / Linda Fredriksson - Saxophones / Sampo Härkönen - Piano / Jarno Lappalainen - Double bass / Kimmo Salminen - Drums /
The music of Oneness gets its inspiration from the spiritual jazz of John Coltrane among others, and plays among its own compositions also music of Doug Carn and Pharoah Sanders. "Mellow Season" that you can listen to in http://www.myspace.com/onenessjazz is from the pre-mastered demo of Oneness (2007).
2) oneNess is band combining musicians of different nationalities (Brazil, Italy, India and Japan) - is the brainchild of Carlos da Costa Coelho. He aims to spread a repertory which is the result of a deep search for timbres and sounds by means of traditional and autochthonous instruments.
It is hard to define Coelho's music in one single genre. It is the result of his experiences in America, Europe and Asia. That is why it fuses different styles ranging from the classical one to the ethnic one, from contemporary music to jazz.
It is the point of contact for musicians coming from different artistic experiences. A concert of Oneness is like a musical journey to various countries through styles such as jazz, Brazilian music, Bengali folk and some oriental stylistic forms, translated into a Neo Humanistic language.
The versatility of Oneness has enabled the band to perform in numerous theatres, halls, churches and squares, in different festivals and venues like the Euromeet Jazz Festival, Musiche dal Mondo (Messina), The International Peace Festival (Assisi) and others, as well as touring in Italy, Germany and France. Their music has been chosen by film directors and choreographers and their pieces are often broadcast on different radio stations around the world (Israel, Austria, Brazil, Italy, Canada etc).
Apart from Oneness projects, the musicians of the group continue their careers performing and recording both as soloists and with prestigious names in the jazz, classical, ethnic and pop fields such as Enrico Rava, Richard Galliano, John Surman, Chris Lawrence, Maria Pia de Vito, Paolino Dalla Porta, Franco D'Andrea, John Anthony Calabrese, Mario Brunello, Claudio Abbado, Pandit Panchanan Sardar, Jamal Huassini, Ornella Vanoni, Ivano Fossati and others.

"I wrote the compositions for No East No West carefully choosing and blending together scales, chords and rhythms from different musical traditions in an attempt to express a sense of unity andlove for all.
Dialogues amongst Brazilian melodies, dance motifs from Bengal, European folk styles, jazz improvisation, Chinese and Southeast Asian ambience, Latin American moods and chamber music all become colours from the same musical palette with the scope of expressing our common feelings and emotions. ".
No East No West is our very colourful unchangeable condition; under this light, this music of love and unity becomes automatically a clear stand against those who are trying to divide what is indivisible.

In "Invisible Path" is inserted the concept of Neo Humanism, where the human being is responsible for each and every living entity and inanimate objects of the Universe while the scope of his existence is the spiritual realisation of the self".
Lobo Guará (maned wolf), South American wolf in risk of extinction and To the Last Dodo Bird, a tribute to the already extinct bird, blends melodies and rhythms from Africa and South American in a polyphonic and polyrhythmic way. Não Tenha Medo e Meravigliarsi, previously recorded in Ajanapathik (1996) and proposed here again, "... Some musical moments are unique and not repeatable: Não Tenha Medo, played by Calabrese's magic violad'amore and the lyric bass of Dalla Porta is certainly one of those..."; Invisible Path, Nova Viagem and Gandharvas Gathering, built over guitar arpeggios delivering melodies that move along close to each other but without ever meeting; ... de pronto me voy a Cuba, the bass is followed by lazy sounds from udu drum, alto flute and cello, "...pure Havana sunrise..."; Arup & Saverio, free improvisation of two great musical souls, impeccable technique "...jungle..."; Awakening a slow and embracing jazz ballad and finalising with Sadhana, with the eyes closed, still body , slow breath, following the "invisible path".
