I was born in Crete (Heraklion). Started singing since young and my basic teacher was my family, especially my grandmother, who was a selftaught singer. She was a peasant woman from Crete, singing traditional songs (“mandinades”, a kind of fifteen syllabes folk poetry, which is very popular still in Crete), as well as various other songs of her time . Following her in the fields, listening and learning from her has always been one of my most valuable experiences about music. A part of my father’s family were immigrants from Asia minor and Dodecanese so i had the chance to listen and learn traditional songs and melodies from these places.

Studied Ancient Greek literature in university of Crete, (Rethymnon). During studies and after I participated in various bands of folk-traditional and rock music. My first recordings were with “Asphodel”, a kind of doom metal/alternative band, singing, writing lyrics, playing the accordion. Studied Byzantine music.I have attended seminars of Bulgarian traditional singing techniques with Tsvetanka Varimezova and of Classical Ottoman music with Ahmed Erdogdular at Houdetsi, (Crete, Labyrinth music workshop of Ross Daly).

I am a member of the band “ Hainides” and together we have accomplished recordings as well as live performances in Greece and abroad (Europe, Usa).. i also sing and experiment with'' Sanades'',a choir of seven female singers that is introducing and performing various versions of polyphonic music and songs from around the world....!
