Rafi G. Baladi is a musician, writer and actor

Born in Port-Said, Egypt in 1951 of Greek origins, Rafi is Egyptian by birth and love, Greek by Origins and love and, for over 25 years, Canadian by Choice and love.

He immigrated to Canada at 35, before which he had travelled the world and interacted with various cultures, passions and roots. He learnt music for over 30 years: Harmony, composition, piano and counter-point in Cairo, with his beloved teacher Olympia Rossi.

He graduated with a BA in Mass Communication and Modern Drama. His stage icons are: Stanislavski, Chekov, Pirandello, Ibsen, Gorki, Miller and others. He loves cinema and developed another list of musical idols for films of the seventies, eighties and nineties.

Rafi writes short stories and finished two novels, one of which he wants to publish but is delayed due to his search for a missing link and the peace of soul to find it.

His music is beyond dramatic. It reflects the sum of his experiences with the passions and roots of those he learnt from across the globe: From East to West and North to South. It has a Mediterranean, nostalgic and romantic wispy touch. Many of it is available for digital sales on iTunes and Amazon; just search for Rafi Baladi or Fields of Memories.
