Trayscrape formed in 1998 at the University of Surrey as a 6 piece rap-metal band. The lineup consisted of:

John Crouch: Vox
Mike Davies: Guitar
Jef Daniels: Bass
Tristan O'Dwyer: Drums
Simon Canon: Decks

The band recorded a three track demo at Adelaide Studios in 2001, with the tracks "Bring on the Noise", "Abrasive" and "Clothed".
