Larry toured and recorded for many years with Jimmy LaFave's Night Tribe. His guitar features on numerous LaFave albums including Austin Skyline, Highway Trance, the live Trail series, and Jimmy’s last, Peace Town. Wilson also played guitar and sang with his own group The Spaceheaters, Curtis Cole & The Diamond Ears, and with Tommy Elskes. In 2009, Austin’s mayor Will Wynn proclaimed April 2 as “Larry Wilson Day”. Now based in Bastrop County, Texas, Larry Wilson continues to record albums of original songs including Gotta Own Up, Christmas Memories (Instrumentals), Live!, and recordings with the Larry Wilson Band. He serves the community musically, hosting a regular “Picking on the Porch” session, highlighted in magazines such as Texas Monthly.
