Since the early nineties, Mr. Anton”Giggy” Genius has been putting in work. His story begins singing songs and dancing on stage with then r&b group PRECYYSE. Precyyse was known for their dynamic stage performances as well as ability to display keen vocal harmonies, on record or a’capella. Precyyse was skilled across the board at entertaining. The group gained local stardom when radio personalities sought interest in the group after hearing them sing on one of the dj’s voicemail…and the rest was history. They were singing parodies of other signed artists songs and they gained popularity from that. Precyyse decided to break away from the parody group stigma and when out performing all original tunes at every showed they booked. WGCI personalities” The BadBoyz” decided to showcase their music and that gave them the push they needed to start their musical buzz in the chicagoland area. After a 10 year run at performing together, Precyyse release their first and only full length cd titled “The Fourth Member” The cd enjoyed moderate success via internet buzz but that was it.
After the release of the cd, the group disbanded. Fast forward to the near future Anton kept going as a producer later to become a solo artist. He produced many artists in the chicagoland area once again becoming a well known figure in the chicagoland music scene. If you ask anyone who is an artist in Chicago, who Anton is..They should answer with “a dope producer”. In recent years, Anton Giggy after releasing “Soul Of an Mc” from his own independent imprint” Giggatronix” He adopted the term GENIUS after his name. After several references from artists he’s worked with for displaying genius in songwriting ideas and production skill, it stuck! Genius has taken up the banner of running his own company writing his own legacy thru hard work and dedication to get his message out on his own. It hasn’t been easy but gratifying to know his music goes out to the world on his own terms. So far it has paid off. Local radio personality “Heavy Hitter-Dj Timbuck2, has taken a liking to Anton’s musical style. Timbuck2 has been a advocate of the genius brigade and has informed everyone he encounters of Anton’s skill as an artist as well as a producer…Christening him the “new jdilla” To those who know who j dilla is...That is a HUGE compliment. Although that is timbuck2’s opinion, still…it says a lot of how much of an impact AntonGenius has made in his short time a solo artist/producer/label owner…another business venture Anton has spawned is iLLiSOULiFE.
