Erik Larson and Peacemaker hail from Austin, TX, a breeding ground for the quintessential "musician's musician" and many timeless Americana heroes. The band's creator and frontman Erik Larson had some notoriety in the late eighties and early nineties when he lead the Southern Metal Rock band Johnny Law on Metal Blade Records. Although the band was short lived, he left his musical footprint amongst the metal crowd and hard rockers and is still remembered in Texas and Atlanta, GA where the band had relocated during their tenure to collaborate and record with Brendan O'Brien and Dan Baird of Georgia Satellites fame.

Since returning to Austin some years ago, Larson has been involved with a number of Austin based rock bands which enjoyed some local success, but even while staying close to his Southern Rock comfort zone none were ever able to reignite the spark of Johnny Law.

Today, however, Erik Larson and Peacemaker has come into their own having made peace with themselves, their music, and their audience. Maturity, real life experiences, and the powerful grip of the Lonestar state have led ELP to discover, embrace, and find harmony in the Americana spirit that has surrounded them for so many years.
