Singer, songwriter, pianist and music producer Phil Hancock is one of Australia’s most prolific up-and-coming young artists.

Since graduating Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Music two years ago, he has released three singles, an EP, and written music and lyrics for DJ’s and artists including Praxis, Alianah and Cutloose. Additionally, he has co-produced three music videos, released his own iPhone app and designed his own bow tie fashion line.

As a songwriter, Phil Hancock is accomplished, versatile and innovative. His songs shifts between infectious pop tracks, humble folk melodies and powerhouse ballads. Influenced by artists such as Elton John, Billy Joel and Emeli Sandé, he doesn’t hold back in his songwriting, letting charming words and melodies flow out with raw honesty. His tunes are catchy, so much so that it’s certain knowledge that a Phil Hancock-penned song will remain in your head for days to come.

As a singer, Phil’s career kicked off in 2012 when he released the single, “Who We Fall For” in May. All proceeds from the single, music video and launch concert at the GPO Hotel were donated to the charity, Reach Out, a website that provides support for teenagers dealing with anything ranging from mental illness, bullying to relationship issues. The project raised close to $1000 for the charity.

Throughout 2012, Phil Hancock put his name to a bow tie fashion line, co-designed by The Mad Bower, and released his very own iPhone application. Additionally, Phil was part of the Independent Music Project‘s Songs in 100 Hours Project. He recorded three songs in four hours with producer Phil Graham. Phil Hancock has performed at numerous venues around Brisbane including The Zoo, X&Y Bar and The Hi-Fi Bar, just to name a few.

In April 2013, Phil released his debut EP, “Oh So Serious“, which included the singles “Sugar Rush” and “Cloud”. He co-wrote the track “Mu-Sick” with DJ duo Praxis, which recently received 2nd place at the Discover’d Awards in Brisbane. In mid-2013, Phil signed with booking agency The Gig Factory, performing covers gigs in piano bars around Brisbane. He is available to book now for weddings, functions and all events here.

Phil Hancock has just recently been hard at work as a songwriter and music producer for upcoming singers, artists and DJ’s worldwide. He co-wrote the hook to the title track of Cutloose‘s debut EP, “On Top“, and produced singles for folk artists Sarah Mae, Cathryn Ricketts and Carla Crocker. He has worked with vegan YouTube personality Rory Bland and aspiring radio presenter / singer Zoe Ringuet. One of his songs was released by up-and-coming pop singer Alianah, and he is currently writing music for YouTube sensation Awesome Alanna.
