"On “Pebbles,” Snyder lets a slight undercurrent of fuzz lead the way and it helps propel the track to some far-out, stratospheric heights. Early on, the interaction between the guitars and bass is quite unique, as the riffs sound straight up Byrdsian, while the muscular bass exudes more of a soulful bravado. While invoking a clever metaphor that compares having pebbles in your shoes to feelings of self-doubt, he also lets his guitar get in some words edgewise, especially around the choruses, where they slowly start to sound a little more menacing - thus establishing a nice contrast with the sedative quality of his voice.
